Information used by the directory

  • Listing information: names of dental providers and professionals, business addresses, public contact information, location coordinates, listed services, opening hours, source ratings and review counts, provider descriptions and facilities. Some professional information may be personal data even when it is publicly available.
  • Enquiries and corrections: the message, topic, any name you provide, reply email and, for a correction, the listing concerned. Messages are stored privately for the website team and are not published automatically.
  • Searches: words, places, treatments and filters submitted to the website. If you request location-based results, your browser asks permission before sending coordinates for the search. Coordinates and search terms can appear in the page URL and server request logs.
  • Technical information: web requests may include an IP address, browser details, requested URL and time. WordPress also uses technical information to deliver forms, administration and security features.
  • Preferences: the browser stores your optional analytics choice and when it was saved. Complianz stores consent choices in first-party cookies. Google Analytics is loaded only after you allow statistics cookies.

Sources, purposes and intended legal bases

Initial listings were supplied in a workbook of information collected from Google business listings. The original collection date was not provided. Postcodes are checked against Postcodes.io. We use these details to provide a searchable directory, help visitors contact providers and investigate corrections.

For public operation, the intended basis for maintaining factual professional listings and handling ordinary enquiries is legitimate interests: providing useful directory information, keeping it accurate and responding to requests. Security and abuse prevention also serve legitimate interests. We consider the necessity of processing and its impact on individuals when maintaining listings and handling objections. Applicable legal obligations may provide a basis for responding to statutory requests.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Use the contact form to identify the information and explain your concern. A publication request, correction or objection is reviewed; it does not require you to agree to advertising.

External services and links

Postcode radius searches send the postcode to Postcodes.io through our server. We do not deliberately send your name, enquiry or browser location to that postcode service. The website caches postcode coordinates to avoid unnecessary repeated lookups.

Interactive maps contact OpenStreetMap tile servers only when you choose to load a map. The tile service receives technical information such as your IP address and requests for the map area. Directions links open Google Maps when clicked and pass the destination. Provider website links also lead to independently operated websites. Those services have their own privacy information.

Enquiries and corrections are accessible to authorised website administrators. Hosting, backups and any future email delivery can involve service providers. This website is hosted through Hostinger. Hosting processes connection information to deliver and protect the website. The forms save messages privately in the website database; they do not automatically email a third party. Contact the controller for information about hosting records, backups and applicable transfer safeguards.

Analytics and advertising

Google Analytics 4 is configured through Site Kit by Google to understand how visitors use the directory. It processes information about pages visited, device and browser details, interactions and online identifiers after you allow statistics cookies. Google provides this service and may process data internationally under its applicable transfer safeguards. You can decline or withdraw optional statistics consent using Privacy choices. Google AdSense is not currently enabled. This policy will be updated before advertising is activated. See Google's privacy policy and our cookie policy for further information.

You can open Privacy choices in the footer to review or change the current preference. Read the cookie policy for storage details.

How long information is kept

Routine form messages are scheduled to move to trash after eleven months, followed by WordPress's normal trash retention of 30 days. This gives an intended maximum of approximately twelve months, subject to the scheduled task running. Any justified legal hold or different production retention must be separately documented. A hashed, site-specific representation of the sender's IP address is used for a short-lived submission counter that expires after one hour.

Listing records are maintained while relevant to the directory and reviewed when inaccuracies or objections are reported. Archived source files and backups require a defined production retention policy before launch. Complianz consent choices normally expire after 365 days and can also be removed through your browser settings. Google Analytics retention follows the configuration of the connected property. You can request the current retention details from the controller.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, applicable data protection law may give you rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict its use, object to processing and obtain portable information. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing already lawfully carried out. Some rights have conditions and exceptions.

Explain your request by email or through the form below. Only provide enough information to identify the relevant record or enquiry. If identity checks are necessary, the team should explain what is needed and why rather than asking for unnecessary documents in the initial form.

You may complain to a relevant data protection supervisory authority. For the operator in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, information is available from the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg. Where UK data protection law applies, you may also contact the UK Information Commissioner's Office. These routes do not limit your rights to approach another competent authority.

What the website does not do

The directory does not provide clinical diagnosis, accept patient records or make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about visitors. Search filters organise listings using factual criteria. A rating is a source snapshot, not a clinical assessment or recommendation.

Contact the website team

For directory, privacy or legal enquiries. For appointments and treatment, contact the dental provider directly.

Your details are stored privately to handle this enquiry, normally for up to 12 months. Do not send patient records, identity documents or urgent medical requests. Read our privacy policy.
